We're probably going for the national tkd tournament in terengganu (early September). I'm not sure whether I should be thankful or what. Wanna go but there're lots of other things to be settled and I'll miss 3 classes on thursday and 4 classes on friday...entahlah. The pressure is mounting (as if I'm the one who's going to swim across the english channel hehehe), pray for me ya!

Been busy with my mid term exams last week. And unfortunately my lecturer asked us to sit for another mid-term exam bcos he said we can't pass the exam the way we wrote in our answer scripts. He asked me whether I wanna take it again, so I asked him back what did i get for the paper...then he simply said "Well I think you (and another 2 frens) did slightly better, but I haven't graded it yet, I just had a glimpse of it." What kind of answer is that, i thought lecturers were supposed to mark the papers thoroughly...erm, dunno lah! I just don't get it why there are some many lecturers who like to make the students suffer. Bro. Salim told us in class...lecturer being strict is one thing but being STINGY is another...well he's definitely right! Erm...and this one week holiday will be specifically dedicated to my four long assignments...good luck to myself then :p.

Just came back from kungfu class...got some bruises (sparred with black belter maa!). Last nite watched Akademi Fantasia...I'm glad Atie was voted out...not bcos I dislike her or anything but...I think it's time to end her misery ^_^ . Anyhow, I think she's one of the best students there and she's better off with acting than singing...so go and join the ASK or any theatre group and learn more (macam la Atie baca this junk :p ). Btw, next Friday I'll be off to Alor Setar to participate in a taekwondo tournament...so please come and support us...Legends (my training center lo!) is the best!

This book will be launched on 26th July 2003 at 5.00pm...please check out the silverfish website for more info...www.silferfishbooks.com (check the Nineteen collection of women's writing too :D). By the way, my brother just bought the latest album from Too Phat. I'm not really into this hip hop thing but i have to admit their songs are quite entertaining and heavy with message. So, what are you waiting for...go to your nearest music outlet and buy the original Too Phat 360 ` album.

Dulce Et Decorum Est

Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs
And towards our distant rest began to trudge.
Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots
But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots
Of tired, outstripped Five-Nines that dropped behind.

Gas!GAS!Quick, boys!- An ecstasy of fumbling,
Fitting the clumsy helmet just in time;
But someone still was yelling out and stumbling,
And flound'ring like a man in fire or lime...
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

In all my dreams, before my sleepless sight,
He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.

If in some smothering dreams you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin;
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,-
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori.

I borrowed the line "Dulce et Decorum est (pro patria mori)" from Wilfred Owen's poem. This is one of my favourite poems and hope you guys enjoy it too.
